Marie-Curie Conference: Politics of Exclusion and Return: The Phenomena of Diaspora Formations
Budapest, Ungern
"There are two main understandings of the term ‘diaspora’ in migration politics. The first covers all forms of cultural minorities with similar traits, which have dispersed from their places of origin. The other understanding emphasises activities and loyalties in cultural minorities living outside their places of origin. These loyalties and interactions are understood as networks of social structures. This conference aims at achieving an understanding of diaspora formation. The central topics of debate will be trans-state politics, and the establishment of new interstate co-operation patterns concerning the management of migrants and diaspora politics."
