Marie-Curie-konferens: International Intervention Politics of the EU and National Agencies in the Regularisation of Migration and Settlement

Lissabon, Portugal

"This conference focuses on the politics of international intervention and on the management of migration on the European level. There are two prominent, but conflicting positions in immigration management strategies: The liberal strategy views migration as a free market in which borders should be open, and migrants should be free to choose where and how they can best contribute to economic growth. The conservative approach emphasises border controls and the marketoriented governance of immigration. This meeting will focus on the future role and positioning of institutions of migration management in both Europe and the European nation states."
