Belgien

Tid: 30 augusti - 6 september 2009
Plats:  Antwerp, Belgien
Arrangör: UCSIA - Universitair Centrum Sint-Ignatius Antwerpen

"With this message we would like to draw your attention to the UCSIA
summer school on "Religion, Culture and Society" that the University
Centre Saint-Ignatius Antwerp organises each year. Our 2009 summer
school will take place from August 30th until September 6th in
Antwerp, Belgium (date of arrival and departure).

It is obvious that religion, culture and society are strongly
interwoven and are crucial for understanding the contemporary world.
It is the aim of the interdisciplinary UCSIA summer school to learn
and reflect on this interconnection.  In our 2009 programme the focus
will be on religion and politics and our guest lecturers are Steve
Bruce (University of Aberdeen), Robert Hefner (Boston University),
John Hutchinson (London School of Economics) and David Voas
(University of Manchester).

Participants should stay for the whole duration of the seminar.
Tuition fee, accommodation and meals are provided by the organizer. In
principle, the participant only has to bear his or her travel expenses
and his or her personal expenses.

In attachment you can find the programme of the summer school as well
as an application form.  For more information regarding the
application procedure we would like to refer you to our website summerschool.

The completed application form as well as all other required
application documents must be submitted to the UCSIA Selection
Committee not later than Sunday May 3th 2009.

We hope you can disseminate this information further so that PhD
students and postdoctoral scholars who are likely to be interested and
are involved in active research work pertaining to this subject
matter, may participate in this summer school."
